He earned his PhD in Environmental Science from the Scientific Institute of Mohammed V University in Rabat, where he specialized in renewable energy, sustainable development, and wastewater treatment. He has also led sub-regional workshops across Africa, promoting zero-waste and climate-resilience practices.
Dr. Kharti designed and optimized Microbial Fuel Cells that generate bioenergy while purifying wastewater, applying advanced materials characterization and performance modeling tailored to semi-arid environments. His current research focuses on modeling and improving urban waste-management systems to foster circular-economy solutions, strengthen climate-adaptation plans, and advance renewable-energy integration.
